Hello!

My name is Nate, and I live here in New Hampshire with my family. As of posting this, I am 18 years old. I am a huge gaming nerd, and an aspiring animator. I first heard of mermaiding a few years ago, when I was browsing youtube and came across people like Mermaid Melissa and Raina, and I thought it would be cool to try out. Will I actually do it? Will I actually save up hundreds of dollars to buy/make a tail of my own? I don't know. It would be something I would love to do, but since getting a job is a lot harder than I had anticipated, it's gonna be a while before this merman can get his first set of fins.

Also, my parents have no idea I want to do this :p I'm thinking once I do have my first tail, I'm just gonna casually sit in our tub and read a book with the bathroom door open until someone notices my tail

But that's all I have to say about myself :) I've seen a bit of the site already, and I can't wait to meet more awesome people that share the same passion as me :)

Hello! I'm a fellow merman that does not yet own a tail! I get the whole introducing the family part. Mine don't know I love it as much as I do. One thing you can do depending is get a monofin from finis. The Rapid is not too expensive as far as monofins go and you get a Mer like swim without the skin part. Plus if you uncomfortable you can say your training for freediving and/or the butterfly kick. Which leads them into asking : What is freediving? But essentially Mermading is casual/fun freediving. Anyway hope you have fun on this site and find that sense of community you may not have yet!
