So there’s a new club at the community college I attend. It’s a sparring club and it focuses mainly on sword fighting with some hand to hand combat tossed in for good messures.
And guess what?
I’m the only girl in the club!!!
Yes, we do use plastic weapons, my favorite is the broadsword.
It’s pretty cool, except for when I’m practicing and all the other guys treat me like I’m a china doll. They’re such gentlemen, they’re so hard to find these days…
Anywho, the other day I was talking to some guys about archery (a favorite pastime of mine) when this passerby thought it would be fun to grab a broadsword and poke it in my back. I of course, grabbed another broadsword from one of the guys I was talking to’s hands, spun around and (I don’t know how I did it) got the broadsword out of his hands and held the up to his throat in an X.
I then told him, “You have no honor; if you wished to duel me, all you had to do is ask. But now, you’ve shown me what a coward you are. You are no better than a pig.”
I then wacked him soundly in the side with the flat of the broadsword, to the amusement of all the other members..
The day I joined the club, everyone kept finding an escuse to come up to me and correct me- they weren’t being handsy- they would touch my shoulders or wrists with their fingertips or my knes with their feet. As I stated before, complete gentlemen…
I was also bombed with so much information; I swear I learned more on that first day of sparring than in my oceanography class all semester!
