So I've decided I have too much free time on my hands and thought maybe I could start up a mermaid top/accessory shop. I'd focus purely on shell based things, so tops, hair pieces, earrings, necklaces, bracelets and belts. Does anyone think this would be a good/ successful venture? I'm not ready to actually open it yet so this is just seeing if there would be an actual market out there and if anyone would be interested? There seems to be a lot of talented mers out there making their own accessories but there doesn't seem to be a big market for it in terms of actual shops for those who can't source the items/have the time/ or think they can't do it. I know some tail makers do offer such items but some, like Merbella's, is just so busy she doesn't have time to do a lot of shell products anymore and has moved more to silicone. Personally I love Raven's shell work and I'd mainly try to achieve things like that (though I don't know how close I'd come I'd still like to try).

Do it! There's lots of mermaid accoutrements on Etsy and they seem to be doing alright. Ids love to see some coherent designs.
