Hi Everybody!!
I am looking for a tailmaker who makes silicone or latex tails that can work for under 700$. I was going to buy a tail from a private seller but something terrible happened and the tail ripped so I could not buy it. Please tell me if you know anybody who can work for a budget of 700.

You really can't make a nice at-cost full silicone tail for seven hundred, or that us my understanding from watching new tailmakers offer tails 'at cost'. There are lots of links to tailmakers in that section, but most silicone tails run at least a thou and not many people do latex anymore. You may have to go neoprene/silicone for that price, and even those are pretty pricey. I do know Sirenalia is making at least one tail at a cost of about nine hundred (price of materials) but that may be a one time thin, and Mertailor does partial silicone for 850. I suggest saving up a little more if you want full silicone--if they are only charging 700 then they may not have much tail making experience.

so work off of what Seavanna said-

Most silicone tails run about 900$ in cost of materials alone, not to mention the hours and hours of love, attention, and labor that goes into making a good tail. Most tail-makers are trying to turn a profit (it is a business after all) and you would be hard pressed to find one who is offering one for less than that.

You can look through here: B (http://mernetwork.com/index/content.php?133-mermaid-tailmakers)uying Tails for the more common tail makers. but about the cheapest "realistic" tail you will find is the hybrid tail from the Mertailor.

Or you can check out Sirenalia- h (http://mernetwork.com/index/showthread.php?6249-Sirenalia-now-(sort-of)-open-for-business!)ere. She is just starting up her tailmaking business and is selling her new "trial" tails at cost. But like what Seavanna said- she is kinda new- and selling them cheap because she is using these as PRACTICE. So there is no promise that they will be perfect.

You can always try to make your own- there are TONS of threads on making your own latex or silicone tail. I know Mermaid Julz is doing a kinda "WIP" thread as she works on hers complete with pictures and tutorial videos. You can find that: H (http://mernetwork.com/index/showthread.php?5855-Julz-s-First-Latex-Tail-attempt)ere.

* sorry took a look at my links- They are the first letter of the word.

A word of caution too with tails - you get what you pay for. There's SO many sad stories of mers here and out there in general who see a "silicone" tail for less than $1200, jump on it, only to find out that it's caulking, or neoprin, or incredibly shoddy craftsmanship, or lacking a real monofin, or... Well, the list of what can go wrong is pretty extensive.

The only people I know making tails for even near that price are the partial silicone Mertailor tails (and I'd read his reviews before ordering with him so you know what you're getting into) and Sirenalia (who is just starting out and making the tails at-cost because she needs the experience before she starts charging for the labor). And both those will run you either $800 or $900, respectively.

I sell the tails for now for $700 plus the cost of your monofin plus shipping.
The tails have no seams on the sides, rather they have a zipper installed up the back for ease of getting in and out of them.
