Advice for Beginner Mermaids

I thought this thread would be useful for all mermaids(and mermen) both under the age of 18 or over. This thread should give advice on how to get a tail, how to make one, ideas for beginner tails, and so on. This thread would have all info on how to start being a mermaid and being a part of the mer community.

A lot of this advice can be found all over thr forum. Though, I'm sure there are things that can still be posted here.

If you're looking for advice on tailmaking there is a forum just for that.

Fun123Joker - Try starting with small things, like making shells and scales and such. Don't jump in making a tail from latex or silicone if you've never worked with it before.
