Hey y'all!
I am starting to think about my next tail, and I want to hear what you guys think about speed in your tails. What kind of tail do you have (maker/material/monofin)? Does it create drag? Does the monofin counterbalance that? How fast can you swim?
And for the people who have fancy silicones with no monofins, how is that? Do you feel slow?

For me, I have a FishButts latex/neoprene tail with a Merfin. My 25 meter is about 20-25 seconds. It's weird because I definitely feel the propulsion, but I also feel the drag when I'm trying to go fast.

I got a dol-fin monofin, it's made completely out of rubber and I got 2 different neoprene tails. One smooth who doesn't cover the fins and one with extra side fins and longer tailfin. And I have a spandex tail. I can swim pretty fast in my spandex tail and really fast in my smooth neoprene tail even though it's very boyant. I could outswim a breastcrawler with a few kicks, made his friends laught and make fun of him that he couldn't outswim a mermaid.
My tail with the extra fins is just for fun and look beautyfull ;)

I had a spandex tail with separate fins and didn't go all that fast...

Buuuuut then I got a Finis Wave. In my tail... I had issues of it falling off. I made my tail a bit off for me.

With no tail, the wave gives me some pretty quick propulsion. I can do 50yds in less than a minute.

I'm getting a full silicone with a competitor, so when I swim in that, I'll do some timed swims and let you know! I've been curious about this, as well!
