So much glitter, and prettiness. In person you can see the small details. The site won't let me upload any more photos, and my computer is 2 seconds from dying, so I will post more in the morning!!

Bravo! Really nice use of multiple materials! Looks great! Did you use a commercial monofin or make your own?

For the monofin I didn't put one in. The girls at Pacific Beach Hotel have their own competitors and the tail is actually open at the bottom so they can stick their feet through and put their fin on without damaging the tail, the tail then pulls over the fin and closes over the edge. It doesn't balloon at all which is what I was worried about and the fringe keeps people from seeing the monofin. That way if a fin breaks the tail is still usable and girls with multiple foot sizes can use the tail with different monofins.

Thanks :) Liz, the diver I made it for really liked it. She wanted a super shiny tail so it would show up in their dive tank which is rather dark. It looks really bright in the water and at depth which is a bit under 10m.

When you say the fluke closes over the the edge of the monofin, did you make it to snap shut over it somehow? I was thinking that a couple short straps with strong snaps could hold it closed over the fin. Or, did you simply leave the entire edge open and it stays closed and any fin is obscured by the length and fringe?
If you don't mind my asking. I'm trying to get a better idea of your design. :)
