Hey Mer-Folk,
I just finished JV merman's latex tail, he made an unboxing video here:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rNKnxlogo4w

and I have lots of pictures of it on my facebook page
www.facebook.com/MermaidsofHawaii

My latex tails only weigh 5-10 lbs ! They are made of REAL latex (no bathtub caulk) and neoprene (no neoprin)
With proper care, they should last 10 yrs or more, this is the type of latex most halloween masks are made of as well as latex clothing
so it has a long track record or durability and you all already know how durable neoprene is.
I can make a design with you or use your design.
I have made 3 tails like this so far (first 2 are mine) and I'm confident in the finished product and the durability.
The tails have a low raised scale texture and textured fluke. I say "low raised" because they are not
"high def" scales like you see on molded silicone tails...but just enough to get a scale texture that kids and adults love feeling,
and to not weigh you down. Also the average price is $700 so its a great 'mid range' tail if you are looking to upgrade from a fabric tail
but not ready to spend thousands yet on a silicone tail or even if you could buy a silicone tail but you don't like how heavy they are, then you should
get a latex tail from me. I include a 2 page care sheet and the color is completely imbedded in so there is no peeling or chipping.
I can even make the monofin (your choice of fin) removable like I did for JV's tail.

Please email me at mermaidsofhawaii@gmail.com if you are interested (sorry I do not check this forum often enough if you message me on here)

Also, I make what I truly think are the most custom and most affordable fabric tails on the market. Made of spandex with a customized fluke
for between $150-250 if anyone is looking for a great starter tail that you can still customize so its unique and doesn't look like a cookie cutter design or all one color. I have made over 20, maybe 30 of these ? lost count, we use them for our photo-shoot business and I've sold several of them locally and shipped overseas too. You can see the fabric tails at www.facebook.com/HawaiiMermaids

Thanks and Aloha !
xoxo

p.s. I make tops, wrist/arm bands and other matching accessories to go with your tail.

The tail looks awesome! I love the "devil heart" lol.

I have a random question... if you leave the tail folded over for a long time, can it melt into itself? Once upon a time before I was such a wholesome, sweet, and upstandingly wonderful innocent teacher of children *smirks*, I owned a lot of latex clothing, and if I stored it with other latex it would like... melt into the other latex. Of course, I left it for a long time, and I am sure I did not store it properly--I got most of it off the internet and never did pay attention when being lectured on latex care by leathermen with nice chests, LOL! I was just wondering if latex tails ever have this problem? Are there certain things you need to know for storage?

:rotfl:I'm sorry for going off-topic, but you may just be one of my new favorite people because of how you phrased the opening of that ... and really, the whole thing. :highfive:
