I was just wondering what people think of skin tone blended mermaid tail waist area to ones that just start off as tail color.
Just general curiosity of if you think it is more realistic and if it add a layer of believability.
What do you think?

That's entirely a matter of preference.
I know many mers like the blended variant, but I've always liked the clearly defined tail better.
Maybe because for me, mermaids are magical, not realistic creatures, and they are half-woman half-fish,
not half-woman, half-fish, and something in between in the middle ;)
but ye, everyone will have their own preference.

I like knowing peoples opinions on this topic, I think it is interesting.

As caltuna said, it's all up to you.
I love the blended look. I think it makes the tail look more natural. I might figure out a way to place individual scales on my sides to help make the tail seem like it's "part of me".

to me, it truly depends on what the color scheme is and what I'm going for. but for the majority, I vote for non blended

I am not trying to make a choice I just want to know what people think about it blended vs non blended.

I, personally, loooooooooove blended. I feel it makes it look less like a costume and more of an appendage. Though, I have seen some non blended waists that look great! I can depend on the Mermaid, really. XD it also depends on how well the skin colour matches your actual skin. If matches well, I love it.

Blended isn't my thing. I just haven't really seen very many good renditions of it to where it genuinely looks natural on someone.

I personally prefer an 'almost' blended waist, where it's pink or gold near the skin. For some reason, fleshtone scales just don't look right too me.

I agree, fleshtone scales look weird to me. I do like it when they are sort of layered, instead of straight across in a perfect line. I don't think blended waists blend well enough. Maybe if you used costume latex to blend it into your flesh, but that wouldn't be very practical for every day use!

I want to do a waist that follows my body...higher on the hips and lower in the front and back...even with my pot belly! I don't care for the straight across look.
I'd like blended, only if the silicone is clear (or flesh colored lace for a fabric tail).

I agree with the blended. It looks more realistic and flows nicer. However, it would be tricky if you're skin is like mine. IT gets REALLY tan in the summer but it goes down about two shades in the winter.
