So I just had a very depressing half hour of calling every hotel with an indoor pool in my area to see if you can pay to swim there if you are not a guest, with no after no... I have a membership to 24 Hour Fitness, but their pool is in lanes plus the "deep end" is one CORNER of the pool which dips down to 5'3". My FinFolk tail will be here by the 31st and that is not exactly where I want to film my first swim! Hence the hotel calling. After a dozen no's, though, I got a delightful answer from the Holiday Inn. The guy at the front desk said "nah, you don't have to pay! If its just one or two people, come in out!"

exciting, yes, but the real test will be when I show up next week, lol! It is easy for front desk guy to say yes... But we will see what the manger says when I am there! I almost feel as though I should have taped the call! But if they do let me swim, I will be booking Holiday Inn in the future, lol!

Those of you who swim in hotel pools in winter, tell me... Was it hard to find a pool that takes people other than guests? What chains are they?

We have a mountain hotel practically next door which allows usage of their facilities (sauna, steam room and pool) if you pay a certain amount at the check-in, or buy a card which has 10 usage slots for that purpose.
It's more expensive than a pool complex with the same equipment though, and the hotel pool is minuscule-
about as small as a pool you put in your garden, and it's like 4 ft deep :p

I've had quite a hard time finding a pool hereabouts that is any deeper (and those that are, usually are too thronged to tailswim in),
the pools which have a corner deeper than 7ft are as rare as pink unicorns, and are used for jumping from the tower, so no tail-diving there either.

My holiday inn also lets me swim all the time so I was sure to give them a shout out in one of my news articles :)

I had my Monofin last time with me in Lanzarote and Fuerteventura (Canary Islands) the Hotels there did not care about swimming in the Pool - so recon a mermaid Tail eighter.
Lanzarote Playa Blanca - Lanzasur Club Bungalow 3 Stars
Fuerteventura - El Cotillo Beach Hotel 3 Stars
The Hotelguest just been looking a bit confused about the Monofin.

I even had my Pony Suit with me and done some special entertainment for the Kids in the Club.
