I was shopping for neoprene at Seattle Fabrics' online site, and saw this:

Melco Iron On Seam Tape
A ⅞" heat applied seam tape for sealing seams on neoprene, outdoor garments and outdoor gear. Can be easily applied with a household iron to achieve factory quality seams. User assumes all liability of damage to their project when using this product since high heats are involved. Available in black.
$1.95/yd

Has anyone used this for neoprene? How well did it hold up? It seems like a dream to be able to use this instead of killing the sewing machine, but I am afraid that it won't hold up. And I thought that "high heat" and "neoprene" don't really play well together. But I'm a newb, so...

Help?

I'm not sure about the tape seams, but I used an iron on my neoprene top to heat set the paint and it held up fine, though I did put a scrap of white cotton between the two as the iron sticks to neoprene fabric (always test a scrap patch first). But sealing seems I just used wetsuit glue followed by a really wide/long zigzag stitch for extra durability.

you need to lay down baking / grease proof paper before iron it on to your neoprene.
While it is up to the job of holding neoprene together, it can wear down if it's not taken care of properly or if it isn't applied properly (if you live near a wet suit store, they make their own wetsuits go and talk to them they're the experts). It's better to use it as a way to hide the seams. Neoprene glue and stitching is a better way to go.
