I've read Daughters of the Sea - Hannah by Kathryn Lasky. Wanted to buy the other books in the series but they're not out yet in Australia. Its aimed at teens but a great read.

I believe that this has been posted before, but it is too amazing not to share here. Robert Sabuda's popup version of The Little Mermaid is absolutely stunning.

I've been on a mermaid reading binge for a while now, I'm finding a lot of great books but my absolute favorite so far is the Lost Voices series by Sarah Porter. I'm just about to start the second book in the series. Anyone have some good recommends?

I got this book as a Christmas gift and I just have to say how gorgeous this book really is! My family knew it would be pretty, but they weren't expecting how gorgeous it really is. Everyone had to flip through it. My favorite full pages are the undersea castle, and the wedding ship. The best smaller ones are when she turns human and the fireworks (they really pop out at you)!

THE most incredible mermaid book I've ever read is called Mermaid's Song by Alida Van Gores. It's a pretty difficult book to find because it's out of print (it was published in 1989) The eerie thing is, Alida Van Gores passed away not long after the book was published. The way this book is written, she really makes you feel as if she was an anthropologist who lived with mermaids! She details their culture, what their houses look like, how they sleep (in hammocks suspended in the water), what they eat, everything. The story is compelling, it has an environmental message, and it's just overall a great read. You can sometimes find reasonably priced used copies on Amazon:

I absolutely adored that series. I too have been reading as many mer books as I can get my hands on, and I must recommend the Lies Beneath trilogy. It's a great read and served to kickstart my re-entrance into the mer community.
