The picture is not very good, :P just shot it with my cell phone.
Anyways, I was thinking of what to make my first tail out of, something that would hold up, and that I already had on hand. Then I thought about a recycled tail, :jawdrop: since these 'units' of clear rubber bags and tubes, there for this sugar and water mix. And my mother empty's five of these on hand, why not make a tail out of it? All it will do is make less of it land in the landfill, and it is safe, seeing as they have to make sure the contents can go directly inside of a person.

But I simply cannot decide on a scale! I'm leaning towards two, but I'm not sure how well it will hold up, due to shape. Can't possibly do the over-done Ariel scale.

What do you think?

I vote for #1 it's not too complicated and would look great :)

If you are going to hand cut them, I would opt for #1 or #3. Believe me, I'm making individual scales and you want to go with the simplest shape! Also, make your scales big to cover more area!

One and two looks very good, but how looks it after assembly to a sheet?

I like one and two, but I'm leaning more towards one.

Good point. Don't want to do anything little that I couldn't stand cutting out hundreds of times.

Cut some prototypes, time how long each one takes, then multiply it by, say, 500. Then ask yourself how much you like ovals.

:D

Didn't tthink about how hard it would be to cut the right shape, I couldn't get it. Maybe sometime if I get better scissors I can try a different style of scales. But, ovals will work now, I guess, at least the waistline will be simple!
