I'm making it out of this completely transparent material that would otherwise end up in a landfill, the idea came because, it's all I really have to work with. By almost, I mean I'm painting it and sewing it, those two materials are not recycled, so, yeah. I'm hoping I can keep everything cheap, my main material is free right now, so, that will cut cost down quite a bit. I want to get some nice paints that will last, so most of the money will go to that, and I'm making my own monofin. (Seeing as my feet are anywhere between 9-11, I don't want to try and mail order anything for them.)

That, is the basic design, but I need to figure out colors, I can never seem to find a color pattern that I'm so happy with. The fluke, I made a few changes to, I'm still not very happy with it. Those tentacles are amazing, and I love them! And sense this is completely transparent material, I'm hoping to have it fade to transparent at the waist, so I have some skin scales. (Or paint them skin colored.)

I cut around 60 of the scales today, so, I have around 440 more scales, and that should hopefully cover the whole tail. XD

What are the transparent materials you are using? If they are plastics you might look into some paints for making stained glass at an art supply.

I'm fully intending on posting in full detail Pearlie, I'm overly excited to get to the end of this tail! XD

Golden, I'm a little unsure, it is either plastic or rubber, but it feels more like rubber to me. (But I am no expert.)

It may be clear vinyl plastic sheeting. Did it come on a big roll with paper backing? I'm using some of that for a couple of my tails (recycling it as well), it's usually used for covering chairs, tables, clothing, collectables, etc...

Well, I really don't know, it could be. (All I really know is there is no latex in it. XD ) there bags, with attached tubes, I'm using those tubes too. They previously held a mixture of water, bleach, sugar and salt, for cleaning out blood.

I'm hoping that my indecisive brain can make up it's mind before I finish cutting the scales, and maybe I should just leave the pencil down tell I do make up my mind. Accidently found myself with a really nice clownfish tail design, and can't seem to make up my mind. XD Good thing I have plenty of scales to cut before I need t make up my mind on tail design.
