http://www.jmbfxstudio.com.au/ is responsible for a lot of mermaid tails you've seen, and he's on DA!

He's REALLY NICE I had talked to him for a while on DA back before I ever purchased a tail :)

I love the length on the tails he makes! It adds so much realism.

Fantastic work! (on the website it has an enquiry page, I can only imagine how much it would cost to have a tail made!) - there's a video of them making tails for H2O, putting the scales on one by one! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2wg2xMJNNSE

yes, and the tails extend past your feet and are solid. He showed me specs on it before, but it was before I ever found mer yuku and he doesnt appear to be active on DA anymore...

I totally use to stalk this website waiting for them to put up the H2O pictures, haha!
I also remember when everyone wanted to know who the tail maker was (uh, google people) and how they could get one of the H2O tails. They're beautiful and realistic, but they would be so expensive it would probably blow your mind, plus they're not really all that great or safe for recreational swimming. As fast as you see the H2O girls go in the series is as fast as those tails can go, and it's not very fast! They're quite heavy and hard to maneuver in. However they're GREAT mermaid eye candy!

The only thing I have as a "con" about his tails (which are asthetically beautiful, amazingly well crafted and fantastic to see), I feel like the movement I've seen by those wearing his tails looks labored and a bit unwielding. Whether it's FISH TALES, H2O or AQUAMARINE, they are beautiful, but they don't move as fluid and smoothly as some other tails like SPLASH or MR. PEABODY. I think that the tails from HOOK go with the same idea of length beyond the human's foot and still move with unbelievable fluidity. I would love to see a bit more of that movement from these tails. I CERTAINLY don't mean that as a harsh criticism... (lord knows I can't do better), but it's just a thought I'd had

The aquamarine tail was controlled mechanically so if it wasn't smooth it was the machines fault :)

there were actually 3 aquamarine tails, only 1 of them was mechanical :p 1 was dry, and 1 was for swimming :) I watch a making of I think I posted it here somewhere too

yeah, I saw that making of too on the DVD. Cool stuff, and I DO love the tail. They just look a bit heavy to me
