I agree. Only thing I might have changed was the extreme floppiness of the little boy's fluke.

D'aww, that's cute. And I kind of like how it's just mermen with no 'maids. The whole mermaid thing is always toeing the line with this fetishistic idealism of skinny girls with flowing hair and perky seashells, it's nice to see the guys out there wagging their tails for a change.

Agreed. I feel like realism tends to lead to the most impressive creatures.
