Fish tank decorations as accessories

Has anyone used fish tank accessories to create new costume accessories? I saw some cool starfish the other day at my local pet store, and I thought they might be useful to some other projects I've been considering. I was wondering if anyone else had any other suggestions for that kind of stuff, particularly since fish tank supplies are designed to experience a lot of water exposure (though that doesn't always stop them from experiencing various forms of wear and tear, I have to admit).

I know Nerine picked up faux coral or something like that... I imagine faux sand dollars would also be nice, if one could find them!

I have!! plants of all kinds for the colors.. they work same as floral stuff from hobby stores

i got some fake seaweed which i used for hair extensions, earrings, necklaces... they were selling a fish tank and i was like umm can i just have the seaweed. :p
