hi i have a tail design with a long fluke that i am planning to make out of spandex i use a finis mermaid fin and leave my tails open at the bottom so i can take it in and out. my monofin is not as long as my fluke so i was wondering if air would get trapped in my tail. the fluke looks like the POTC tail's fluke. so should i go with making the whole tail open at the bottom with snaps to close it or should i sew it mostly and leave a space for the monofin to be put in? thank you for your suggestions! :)

I would suggest using either plastic snaps or short strips of velcro (sew-on velcro, not stick-on, on iron-on) to close it. Leaving it open will allow your monofin to be seen as the fluke fabric moves! :P

You can either have it close closer to the monofin, leaving the open long bits trailing - could neat, like a betta fish almost... Or you can close it near the edges of the fluke shape.

Can't wait to see! I'm working on a similar tail :)

My old tail was black so I think I might get a different color.

No problem :) I love the POTC-style tail so much!
