Looking for a model... contest will get you a tail!

ok, as we know, There is a tail making contest going on for Merfest 2015. I am going to try to enter, but I would like to find a model for this.

So, I am going to give someone the chance to get to be a model, and get a tail that is custom made for them. there is a catch though......

I'm gonna run this kinda like a contest. So, here are my base rules for such.

1) Have intentions of making it to Merfest 2015.

2) Lives within the Continental US

3) No allergy to Latex (THIS IS A MUST)

4) Has experience swimming in a tail/monofin.

5) Currently do not own your own Silicone or latex tail.(fabric tails ok)

Five simple rules.


Now, to enter, All I want from you is a 1 page essay as to why you would want to be a model and get your very own latex tail. and no, it don't have to be a Full page. but I would like at least 2 paragraphs.


Remember you will have to swim in this and model it for the judges. I will keep the best communication with you as possible. I want this to be a tail you will love, but sadly your going in blind not knowing the design till you are picked. Together we will consort on slight changes, but since this is a contest, I do want to keep this tail design as I have it down. the less we make changes, the better it is for us.(the judges will compare it to the sketch)

I hope you are just as excited about this as I am. As of right now the tail design is all mystery!

you can, but I rather use someone else besides me. It will help expand my skills being able to use someone else's measurements.

ok, I did want to clarify something about this tail for the contest.

I did get one email inquiring about this.

This is not an Alex tail or a latex tail made with latex from home depot. I refuse to make a tail out of these materials.

This is High Quality RD-407 Latex from Monstermakers.com. this is 100% Skin safe (unless you have an allergy).

good luck! I've seen Julz's tail in person and spoken to her at length about her tails. She is really open to criticism and making them as great as possible. She spent a lot of time at merfest working on her tail and getting pointers from Thom! For a beginner, I am impressed. I hope it goes well!

ok... Sorry for such a late posting. I had posted this on FB sites first.... and then I got busy with homework stuff....
