I’m so bad at these and fantastically shy to boot, so I apologize if this isn’t the greatest introduction.

I’m a brand new mermaid in the Salt Lake City area, though currently and sadly tail-less (I’m planning on purchasing a tail in the very near future!)

Like most little girls, I think, I started off my mermaid fascination very young, and to this day, whenever I get into a pool, I instantly become a mermaid in my head. But it wasn’t until about last year that I even realized it could be more than a game of pretend without fins in a public pool. I’d seen models swimming in tails, but I never believed that I could do anything like that. But I attended our local pirate festival, and there was a small pod of mermaids performing there, and I was immediately captivated with the idea of becoming one myself.

All of which eventually led me here. I haven’t been here all that long (I’ve been stalking the last couple of days or so), but it’s nice to see so many people with the same fascination as me (I don’t think my family would be all that accepting if I told them), and I hope I can learn some good things from you guys.

I'm the aforementioned Dottie! I currently live in the SLC area, too. Glad to meet you!

Welcome, Nytyngay!

I'm the aforementioned Thalassa! ;-) I live in Provo, but most of my mermaid friends are in the Salt Lake area.

Welcome! I'm so glad that another desert mer joined! I know things can get lonely and a bit dry for all you mers so far from the sea! :) Youre lucky to be near Dottie and thalassa...they're two of the nicest mermaids on here! :)

Thank you, everyone for the fantastic welcome. I haven't had much of a chance to really get into doing anything yet (as I don't yet have a tail or fin to swim in), but it's nice to see that I'm not alone! Hopefully I can get up to speed and start enjoying myself in the water. I'm really excited to get started thanks to everyone here! :)
