So I'm just starting to make sculpt my fluke out of WED clay and I have some questions for the mers who have sculpted with it.
1. what is the best way to keep it from drying out/keep it wet or moist
2. what is the best way(s) to sculpt details with it, like after I get the main part sculpted?

p.s. does anyone have any ideas for what I should do for my details?
here is a picture of my fluke shape:

Detailing is up to you! A lot of mers have used forks to get the texture. I did that, and it worked wonderfully.

To keep it from drying, cover it with a trash bag very tightly and put a damp paper towel in the bag with it. :)

Good luck!

Some people like to melt the wed clay with a hair dryer so it's easier to deal with. I would suggest using tools rather than working with your fingers, and anything can be a tool for clay ( you don't have to buy special tools for clay if you don't want to.) I like to use old credit cards or gift cards for some things, for example. Try not to make undercuts because it can be a pain later.
Looking forward to seeing what you come up with!

Wed clay is water based. Not oil based. Don't hit it with a hair dryer or it will dry out quickly and crack. I'd you want to keep it workable just spray it down with some water. :)
