My name's Michelle, but Meshy is fine too. I'm a landocked mermaid in very East County SD, I LOVE the Sims 2 and have a website dedicated to my creations. (You guessed it... LOTS of mermaid stuff!) I'm also a huge Disney fan, and like most of you (I'm sure) Ariel is my favorite princess! I also collect Barbie Dolls (and have every variation of Ariel ever made) Last year for Halloween I was Ariel, found a great costume at Hot Topic. (I love that there's been an influx of Ariel things to be found because of the re-release of the DVD/BluRay combo last October, yes I pre-ordered and got my lithographs yet again!)

I just bought my first mermaid tail from FinFunMermaid (figured it'd make a great first-timer/practice tail), I'd eventually love to get a silicone tail, but that may never be in the budget. I'm pretty crafty, and would love to make my own tail eventually with neoprene & silicone. But not having a job at the moment doesn't help that.

I frequent the Escondido Renaissance Faire (not a fan of the SoCal Ren-Faire since they moved to Irwindale). My profile pic is one of my many costumes. I think this year I shall go as a mermaid and hang out with my pirate friends!

I'd love to meet some new people in the SD area, and maybe even make some new friends. I joined the So Cal Pod group, so hopefully eventually meeting other mermaids in real life might happen. :mermaid kiss:

Welcome. I'm in San Diego, too. I grew up in the East County. Horrifying heat. lol Triple digits. (Okay, that's not everyday, but still.) I hope you are able to get out in your tail now and then. That's a new company to me, thanks for mentioning them. Those are cute tails!

Thanks for the wonderful welcomes everyone!

SurlySeaNymph, I grew up in Orange County, CA, have worked at Disneyland and was an annual pass-holder for years! I do love it out here though, it's very pretty, we got a bit of rain finally last night. I was rather enjoying the warm (especially since it seemed like everyone else was buried under snow). But alas, winter has finally hit the desert. It's actually so cold right now, we have a layer of frost, my car is lightly layered in slushy snow. Maybe we'll have to meet sometime, it'd be nice to meet another mermaid in RL!

I've got a neighbor with a pool, but I know it's not heated right now and even with 70 degree days, it can still hit freezing at night, so I know it's cold. I've been thinking of joining the YMCA in Santee, but it'll be cheaper just to pay the $5 every time I do want to go. The ocean is a bit cold at the moment too. I built better for warmer waters!

My husband and I just celebrated our 10 year anniversary, we're planning on doing something fun at the end of the year, possibly Florida (Disney parks) or Maui. I'm personally voting for Maui.;) We went in September, because he went for work (so sad, I know! :p) He asked instead of paying him to be there that they get a plane ticket for me and give us a few days to play. We only had 4 days to play, but made the best of it. Saw most of the Island, but if we were to go again, we'd like to actually have the time to see everything. My favorite things were the Olivine Pools (https://www.google.com/search?q=olivine+pools+maui&sa=X&tbm=isch&tbo=u&source=univ&ei=bunrUt7mKKLbyQGFzIGwCQ&ved=0CCcQsAQ&biw=1350&bih=615) and the Twin falls (https://www.google.com/search?q=Twin+Falls+Maui&tbm=isch&tbo=u&source=univ&sa=X&ei=ierrUqvqGMqyyAHfs4GACw&ved=0CCkQsAQ&biw=1350&bih=615) on the Road to Hana. The first set of falls are small, but has a deeper pool and less people. The second fall has a man-made pool and was very crowded. Anyway, I plan on bringing my tail with me where ever we end up!

I'll make sure to post some pictures of the tail when I get it, I'll have to find the correct section/thread for that, I'm still finding my way around here.

Yep- Santee, where I grew up, gave us frosted windows during winter weather. And everyone thinks San Diego is so sunny and warm everywhere, all the time. Nooo.

We have the Tailmaker Discussions thread here: http://mernetwork.com/index/forumdisplay.php?18-Tailmaker-Discussions

And there is a 'Show Us Your Tail' thread.... here: http://mernetwork.com/index/showthread.php?1389-SHoW-Us-YoUR-TaiLS-THReAd
