Keep it up. I'm considering covering a neoprene tail with silicone later, and would LOVE to see a step by step!

Hi Folks

I just working on a better blade for the Magictail because of a request to do it in more sturdy plastic and vac. formed with structure - I figured out that i can make em at least 10% bigger as the original Lexan blade.
And I think at least 10 times more sturdy -
The vac. mold is in works i hope I can show you guys on sat the first vac formed blade - after that I co streight on my spare time to the neoprene tails.
I have a small problem by cover the neoprene with the silicone - the silicone hardly cures on the neoprene does someone has a solution for that ?

Honestly I have read some places that the plastic in neoprene can make some silicone not cure properly. I'm sorry I can't recall where I read that tho. :-/

Hi Merfolks,

Sorry for the long away but I had to do a lot of costumes - Lot Ponies and a lot Mascots for Business and Sport clubs.
Beside that a small Holiday on Fuerteventura - here we tested a monofin for the tails.
I really like the island - i really think about moving there. Sun, Dessert, Beach and no Plants - hell i got a breath after months.

Enclosed the Pic of the first Tail Prototype - Neoprene - will be airbrushed but as it is looks not bad.
We used a Australian Monofin to place inside - The cut been made in one late afternoon job
- Couple of Dorsal fins
- Back Fin
- all closed with press Buttons
- Monofin is removeable
- Hidden Back Zipper between the backfins

21604

about 1.6m Neoprene, Heavy 5mm Zipper.
Sewed with ballpoint needles and Overlock
Still a Prototype but I think I done not bad.

Thanks to Mermaid Kathrine for her Help and great Ideas

And a new model for Shells for Mermaid Bra's - Seaears - abailable as 1mm PS Vac. Formed for Airbrush
