We are mainly based Crieff, since we have a pool that allows tails and monofins there but our yacht is in Inverkip (Near Glasgow) :)

Perth is roughly in the middle between SummerRouge and i , and you (Scottish Mer) are pretty close to there and know pools that allow tails :-)

I won't be able to do anything till after the 17th of may because of exams

I'm rather busy myself also with college and events on, so we'd most likely have to arrange a date nearer the time, Nikki another member on here and I are planning a meet up soon-ish. I'm going into Perth sometime next week so, I'll see about the main bigger pool there is fine with tails. The pool here in Crieff my pod and I use is private hotel one. :)

That's cool, I've asked my local pools and they all say no monofins so I doubt they will say yes to a tail.
I plan on putting it on in the pool and spend a lot of time underwater so they can't tell me to take it off. Ignorance is bliss as they say

They tend to freak out about your legs being bond together in the water. It's understandable if you are new to swimming in a tail but it's a bit silly. Three mers cramped into a lane once and we got informed to get out cause someone wanted in. :cry:

That must have sucked. While I can understand the reasoning behind it I still think its unfair.
Yeah I plan on practising in just the monofin first, probably tomorrow as I have a free period and the pool in literally next to my school.

How'd your swim go? Did they freak out like normal? I spoke to the people at the Perth pool and they are still thinking about it. :sweat drop: I think we may end up using the pool in Crieff for the mer meet up, it's the only place that's happy and not even bothered with mermaids in the pool.

It was absolutely brilliant, I was lucky the pool was quiet so the lifeguard let me off with it. Nearer the end though I had to take it off because it was getting busier, it was so weird swimming without it, but now I really can't wait to make my tail!

I know the feeling. It's great having a monofin on, without you kinda feel odd. :rollover:
How goes your fabric search or have you found something that's ideal for your tail?

Im going to the fabric store on Friday hoping they have more colours, last time they only had lilac, now while I like lilac its not the colour for me. If I cant find anything I've already picked out a fabric online

Happy to help. :rollover: I looked all over the place for nice fabric that's Lycra and it's mainly blacks and reds in the shops, the shimmering stuff you have to import. :cry:

I'm not a fan of shiny material on myself, hate sequins and the like with a passion. But its ok on others. I was debating black but then found that plum colour.

So sorry to jump in and hijack this thread! But I'll be in Scotland at the end of June! Any is you lovely Scottish mers have must see places for me? I'm staying 4 days in granton-on-Spey and 3 days in the isle of Skye!

Aberdeen is the only place I know that's close to granton-on-Spey and it's got a fantastic beach, Isle of Skye is also a beautiful place. It's a pity you aren't near the Isle of Arron, they have some perfect rock formations near the water and it's great to swim and hid in them as boats come into dock. :rollover:

We normally travel to the Isle of Arron, Holy loch, Argyll and Isle of Bute often during the summer. It's lovely and most the sailors and yachting club find it entertaining having a group of mermaids in the harbor.

Must be.
Temperature of air and water on Skye is between 5° in spring and 15°C in the hottest summer months, so imagine what a river with pool is like :p

Too bad, if it were warmer, I'd go there at least once, it's a magical place!
