Tula's Adventure in Resin

[Mermaid Tula]

So I was given an epoxy resin kit to play with from my metal-smithing / jewelry teacher.

Here's what I've done so far. I still need to get some bails and screw eye pins so that I can make them into pendants and stuff.

5 bottle caps and 2 glitter hearts. (eyeball, candy stars, candy pearls, candy sprinkles, glitter and candy stars)

Round scalloped piece with embedded star and glitter.

Round scalloped piece with embedded confetti and glitter.

Large teddy bear with sprinkles on the front and opaque glittery white backing.

Pink and Green Glitter rounds. 3 just glitter, one with candy sprinkles, one with candy pearls, and one with a star embedded in it.

Round scalloped with green and pink glitter and candy stars. Back shows stars, front not so much. Going to make a reverse pendant for my daughter.

Hey, Tula. I have a fragile, but beautiful seashell, and I was thinking I could encase it in clear resin to preserve it, and be able to wear it. What do you think?

Dottie, I think that's a perfect idea! If you want, I have some delicate shells that I can experiment with. I've seen people put starfish in resin, and I'm planning on putting a dead scorpion into resin to make a paper weight for my teacher who's giving me the scorpion.

Dottie, just make sure you get in all the nooks and crannies so that there's no air trapped inside the shell.

The first one is my boobies. They're the same rounds from above, but I glued Rhinestones onto them, and glued on some eyepins and put a backing on them and made them into a necklace.
