Will make a tail and top just pay for supplies

I have made tops and costumes. I make everything by hand and I can show pictures if you private message me. I am planning on making a new tail and will make one for a lucky mermaid if you only pay for materials no extra cost.

That's a very generous offer, but there have been incidents in the past where offers for tails that looked "too good to be true" were just that. I just want to remind everyone to exercise caution when making deals over the internet.

What malinghi said is accurate. You should first make a tail to show you are capable of handling the burden that goes into such a thing before offering to make one for others. A few of us have financially backed someone who seemed capable and that person did not deliver and no longer responds to any attempts to contact them. Those of us that backed this person are out a significant quantity of money and it has changed the way many of us think this sort of deal should be handled.

I'm not saying you haven't. This isn't meant to suggest that you aren't trustworthy. The idea that people should be careful entering agreements with someone they haven't met is a reflection on the nature of the internet and anonymity.

I can understand people are skeptical if someone new suddenly pops on the forum with such an offer.

Especially when there are many "tailmakers" who have never worn a tail before, much less swum in one :p
