I think the title says it all. I've had a few practice runs at tails and now I'm finally working on a more permanent one.

Materials - Neoprene, Rubber Floor Runner, Plastic HD Zipper, Nylon upholstery thread
Monofin - My own creation (http://mernetwork.com/index/album.php?albumid=51)

As soon as I've got it fitting perfectly, I'll be air brushing the neoprene.

Having a hard time linking the images, so I'll just post the gallery link here:

Obviously, the black side will be the outside, not the hideous starburst pattern LOL!

More pics soon!

Did you get your neoprene from joann's? (I ask because I know they have a patter just like that.) if so, how is the quality? I've ordered some (coming Tuesday!) and am just wondering what to expect.

Good luck and can't wait to see your progress :D And the final one of course ^.^

Yes, it's from JoAnn's, and it's great quality. It's not *quite* as stretchy as the 3mm wetsuit I used for my practice tail, but it's still nice material, and the stretchy difference is negligible. Oh, and I found that using a Microtex (Sharp) needle helps a TON when sewing on a machine. Otherwise, it has a hard time getting all the way through both layers.

Awesome! Thank you so much for the advice! I was totally going to just use the needle I have. Can't wait to see your progress!

Did you ever complete the tail? Did the monofin hold up?
