Sewing spandex to neoprene?

I really like the way spandex looks stretched over an oceanika fin more than neoprene so I'm considering sewing the fluke of spandex and sewing the body of neoprene then sewing sequins only to the neoprene. Has anyone done that?

he i am planing on a similar project neoprene base and and lycra partial coverage. i saw in the hannah frase tail thread that she sewed them right on to the neoprene in lines.

she sewed it by hand im pretty shure. hope this helps.
also lycra and sequins would most likely stretch out i think and get baggy so better to sew on the neoprene or both :)
