Don't even get me started! Newfoundland winters are the freakin' worst, augh. :C :C Every time we get nice weather that melts the snow a little bit, we get another huge snowstorm! At least we aren't hitting -35C and dealing with day-long blackouts anymore, at least.

I'll be so glad when all this damn snow melts. Me and the cold don't get along well at all!

I feel you. Everyone in this area knows that summer never starts until July 5th each year (the 4th is always cold and rainy -_-). It also ends at the end of September. This state.. kills me.

This year we actually haven't got a reall winter : no freezing, no snow but lots of rain. Last year we had snow storms till BEGINNING OF MARTCH o_0 So I'm happy we have some sunny day's at leat!

Seems the US got all the winter Europe passed this year :p

Our winter usually lasts 3/4 of the year, then 3 weeks warm, then cold again.
This winter we had a very few cold days in December, but no ice or snow all the time.

It still could hit us around March/April though!

I wonder if all of that are signs the gulfstream is finally stopping from all the arctic ice having melted over the last decades.
If it is- Good-bye, Europe. Hello, ice age.

Standard winter weather here. mid 50's and Rain. Like Iona said, the summer (and therefor the outdoor swimming season) doesn't start until after the 4th of July.

Most of us would be fine with the sun going away until then though. xD Whenever it's sunny all I hear is people complaining about how bright it is.

Until then, I'll be swimming in one of the many local indoor pools.

So um.... **twiddles thumbs** It was cold here, and rainy, and... Nope, never mind.

Y'all are having it way worse, and I'm now realizing that I've acclimated to being a spoiled Southern Californian/Angelino perfectly.... I mean, 4 inches of rain freaked me out (despite repeating to myself that after the drought it was a godsend)... I USED to deal with snow when I lived in Iran. If I saw that now, in person, on anything but a ski trip, I'd lose my sh*t. :P

I'm really feeling bad for my fiance. I just sent him back to Canada.... :(

It's 61 here and cloudy and only expected to get up to 65, and I am spoiled rotten for all I can think is BRRRRR. Those gifs make me appreciate what I have that much more.

It did rain here for a few days... there are sand bags in front of lots of local shop doors, and palm fronds everywhere from the wind blowing them off the trees- some of our palm trees are bald now. We did get one good deluge where the wind kicked up and I had to close my windows because lots of rain came in. I had to wait to open them again, but I did because it was warm with them closed, and the air is so lovely and clean. Yep. Spoiled.

Here, right now the sea is a gorgeous grey and white, waves were high even at the lowest tide, so that the pier had to be closed during the 'storms'. But that was pretty much it.

Nearly record amount of snow and below zero days in Chicago this winter. A couple weeks ago it actually got up to around 43°F, but Mother Nature can be a bit cheeky and the mercury plummeted. Last weekend was the Lake Michigan Polar Plunge. I was under my favorite fleece blanket. I risk hypothermia for nothing. Well, maybe for concert tickets....

I agree with this 110% . Now I can remember back in he 80's we had tons of snow but it wasn't this cold. Our planet is so messed up.

This goes for all my friends in most of the rest of my country, too. Iowa is about to get another snow storm, NY's been snowy, Chicago, etc. etc.... but this gif is freaking cracking me up.

@ Raina- Yeah, yeah, yeah... I know i really can't complain given that comparison... In my defense, I lived in Colorado Springs up at around 7200 above sea level before here, and it dipped down into the -20s on a routine basis during the winter. The tropical weather here must be making me soft. :P I really am blessed being able to live where I do. But still... would love to go swimming soon. :)

@ Harley- Technically; I am gulf side... Just further north. Hopefully you're good weather down there holds up through the end of the month!

I agree Surly! I used to live up north where it snowed and was below 0 in the winter. Now everyone up there thinks I live in tropical paradise down here, but when it's cold it's cold! I have just as much right as anyone to be cold, I just don't have the snow that accompanies it :)

You would think! It's more for when I'm walking somewhere and need to cross a busy street. Every driver here has an automatic "MOOSE" reflex so when they see anything vaguely moose-like by the side of the road they immediately slow down and/or stop. No more waiting for gaps in traffic, woohoo!

That and it's just a freakin' majestic hat.

I swear, Newfoundland weather is the reason I have trust issues.

Off and on the last couple of weeks it's bounced between between warm and sunny and all the snow melting away, and then massive snowstorms. Sunday it was warm out and snow was melting, and then Monday and Tuesday were both slammed with snowstorms with about 50cm of snow altogether. My boyfriend's car is still totally buried on one side, and the snowbanks are back up over my head again. :c I just want winter to be over, damnit!
