Help deciding a name for girlfriend

This year I went to merfest. An when we went we met so many nice folks. Well thanks to some of those nice folks had convinced my girlfriend to get into a tail after so many time she has seen me in a tail. Thanks to MerMarla an Echi. She at this moment she is having a tail made for her by a dear friend. My girlfriends Favorite color is red an her name is Tammy. An we are having some trouble coming up with a name for her. I will be happy to answer any questions you have, I would like your input.

I like the name Ruby for a red-tailed mer. Some other ideas:

Kaia - meaning "the sea. In Hawaiin

Nerissa - "from the sea" in greek

Moselle - "from the water" in Hebrew

I too struggle to find a mermaid name for myself. I hope she finds a name she loves. That's my problem, I love my real name and it's very common (Michelle). My nickname with my RL and online friends has always been Meshy, I told a girl in the pool my name when she asked me, I said Mermaid Meshy. She immediately said, "That's a stupid name!" Time to find another mermaid name...

Personally I've been searching for a mer name since I joined mernetwork (around a year ago I think? Wow :b) and I've finally figured it out. Just haven't changed my username yet so I make sure it's what I want. :)

When I think of red and the sea, I think of coral. I know that people associate the color coral as a sort of orangish pink, but I love red coral.

So that's my suggestion. Coral. If she's not into a fancy name. :)
