National Mermaid Awareness Day!

Hey everyone,

Today I got to thinking, do we actually have a day where everyone recognizes mermaids? I have yet to find one, other then the Coney Island Parade. But I want much more then that. I can see this type of day ranging from getting dressed up, meeting with children at hospitals, and raising awareness about our oceans. I didn't want to just pick a random day, but it actually turns out that Twig the Fairy has set August 1st as Mermaid Awareness Day in her calendar.So I have created an event on facebook and its open to the public. Feel free to post pictures, ideas, inspirations, and your plans on how to celebrate Mermaid Awareness Day!

I love this! Hopefully by August I won't have such a crappy work schedule where I always have to work on Friday evenings, and I can do something fun. I love to promote marine conservation issues as well as mermaid awareness. I hope this can become a Thing!
