Hi, everyone! My name is Jenna and I'm ready to start mermaiding! I have a mermaid character named Margot and a fabric w/ monofin tail. The thing is... Where do you mermaid in Chicago? I mean, not in March obviously, haha. And how do you get around in those tails? I'm planning on practicing in my backyard pool, but where do I go from there?

I'm really close to Chicago! Welcome to mernetwork :) there are tons of beaches in Chicago you could go to in the summer. The water would be cold but it would make for some awesome pictures! You could also go to indoor pools, that's mainly what I have been doing this winter.

Awesome to have another Chicagoan! I'm in the process of designing and building a pair of silicone tails for myself and my wife. We're moving to the Logan Square neighborhood and apparently there is an indoor rec center pool there. We'll try there when our tails are done.

Welcome! I'm not in Chicago anymore, but I remember the beaches we used to go to, maybe go to some of those in the summer? I wish I could help with pools, but most of the ones we use to go to are I what most people would call "the bad side of town" though it wasn't that bad when I lived there it's apparently gotten worst :c but I wish you luck!

Anybody up for setting up a meetup? Summer is right around the corner. Any suggestions for a location? Personally, I like Ohio St beach in Chicago since it's right by the water filtration plant and the water is as clear as anything.
