So I have wanted a tail for basically my whole life! In July I will be turning 16 and my tail is my birthday present
I'm thinking about going with a Merbella tail but with the color scheme of this Mertailor tail, what do you think?
Also do you have any advice for a first time mermaid? :yay:

Can you swim? I ask this cos there is a thread that says one shouldn't get a silicone tail as a first tail, and it explains the reasons why.

Not to mention Merbella slots are very elusive and nutritiously difficult to get as she doesn't have a waiting list or take every single order that comes her way. We talk about it in the merbella's thread a bit and there are people who have been waiting a year to even ORDER from her, they don't even have a definite chance of getting a tail.
If you decide on a Merbella's be prepared for a very long wait with no guarantee on a time frame of being able to order.
Another thing to note that is if you're still growing a full silicone tail might not be best anyway as you'll likely grow out of it. However girls usually do stop growing by the age of 15-17 so you may be right but remember that you can keep growing all the way up till 20.

Welcome welcome!
Here's the thread that ireneho is referring to: http://mernetwork.com/index/showthread.php?7106 ; Important read with good points. Also Selene is right- I've seen teenagers grow out of multi hundred and multi thousand tails within a few months, and were so absolutely heartbroken I never saw them on the mermaiding scene again.
But as it says in the thread I linked, we're just here to advise you on what we know and what we've learned! If you still want to get a silicone tail we'll support you- just be sure to know what you're getting yourself into beforehand! :thumbs-up:

As for advice for a first time mermaid, be sure to check out the links in your Welcome PM (also found on the Reference thread (http://mernetwork.com/index/showthread.php?3123)). There's tons of information here for you, you just have to go through it :)

I will say my first tail was a Merbella silicone/neoprene and I've had no issues learning to swim in it; that being said I've always been a very strong swimmer. : )

The good news is that I have swam with a mono fin before :D and I have tried on and swam with fabric tails that belonged to a friend, I'm also done growing so I think I'll go ahead and get a silicone tail from Finfolk! Thank you so much :)
