So yea, I just got my tail swimmable (not finished because I'm covering it with sequins but...) and I took it to practice in. With just the monofin I zipped through the water, and I expected some drag even with the tight fit I made, but it tires me out very quickly, and because the neoprene is a little buoyant I feel like I'm going slower. Just wanted to know if this is normal and if there's any tips on what to do other that "keep swimming and build up the muscles" lol

Neoprene buoyancy is normal! My neoprene tail is positively buoyant so I have to work harder to stay under. Building muscle and practicing the correct stroke will definitely help you go faster. But all in all, sounds completely normal to me based on my neoprene experience!

There are weight belts you can buy/make to help with buoyancy (but the idea of weighing yourself down is scary...)

I considered a weight belt, i agree it's a scary idea but....maybe. I'll keep practicing in it for sure tho. Just wanted to be sure that was normal. :D
