Back up reply: I think I mentioned that my brother has one and that I am personally trying to decide between the Go Pro or the Pentax WG-1.

I've been using a gopro for a few years now. It's awesome for it's size and price. But for underwater you need the underwater housing from eyeofmine.com so the lens has enough space to focus, and getting the lcd back is also ideal for focusing.

You can see videos I have taken with the go pro on my Youtube (http://www.youtube.com/user/shirosaru) or vimeo (http://www.vimeo.com/derekb) site.

Thanks for the tip Derek! How is the underwater housing from eyeofmine different from the housing offered when you buy the Motorsports or Surf package (I thought they included one there)?

The housing included with the gopro is waterproof. But due to the physics of the underwater world light travels into the lens through the domeport differently then above water. The lens doesn't have enough space to focus, resulting in a blurry image. Eyeofmine fixes this problem by using a flat port.

Derek, I just checked out the video from Oahu. Everything about it is amazing. The GoPro took great footage, and I'm totally jealous of freediving in Oahu. Was that seriously 109 feet? I can't believe you guys were diving that deep, and I can't believe the visibility was so good!

Hey does anyone know if the Mako underwater lens would be just as sufficient as the eyeofmine one to get rid of underwater lens distortion? Thanks.
