New mermaid from Italy

Hello everyone!
I'm a new mermaid from Milan,Italy, even if I'm living in Dublin(Ireland) right now. I've been interested in mermaids since my mom read me the Little Mermaid(the Anderson version of course;))when I was a kid, since then I've always dreamt of being a mermaid. Unfortunately being a mermaid is not an easy task in some places(well...there's no sea in Milan, nor mermaid tail makers around) and I've always wondered how would it be possible to make one by myself. After googling around I found some info about tail making and after another while this wonderful forum! I wish I had found it earlier!!
right now I'm planning about making my own tail in latex, I think I'll start this adventure next september when I'll come back to Italy!I'm so thrilled!!!

you'll find a wealth of information about tailmaking here, as you've already discovered.
Making one's own tail is more like a genuine transformation than buying one imo ;)
(and it's often a great deal of fun too!)

I don't know about swimming in Ireland (I imagine the waters are cold there, brrr), but Italy should be a mer dream!

yes, Ireland is pretty cold(I still haven't attempt, it's so rainy!) and Italy can be a mer-dream, but also a nightMER! some beaches and the waters around them are so polluted, and the general behaviour is not "underwater life" concerned..but I wish one day I'll be able to swim with my tail and do not fear to be turned into a joke by the rest of the beach..

Welcome Alcyone! I can perhaps understand your pain; for much of my life I lived within walking distance of Lake Ontario...and most of that time it was too polluted to swim in! It looked beautiful from on land, though....

I'm glad to see that you are being so creative; I agree that there is a more personal transformation quality to having a tail which you designed yourself, though don't be afraid to consult the experts for help! :mermaid kiss:
