FYI Contests and Giveaways Are Allowed on FB

For years FB would actually ban you for doing contests and giveaways but if you didn't know (I know some don't) in 2013 they changed that policy: https://www.facebook.com/business/news/page-promotions-terms so you no longer have to worry, not that anyone ever followed the rule to begin with haha

I was wondering why there was a big influx of 'like our photo win this item' posts all over FB that started back then. I just thought maybe I wasn't active enough to notice it or something.

Although I just read that asking to share pages is not allowed in contests :O Now most people probably don't know that, because not everyone reads the terms and conditions. So it's no wonder every contest has 'share this image' to enter. Does that count? It's not the page specifically, more an image linked to that page.

well it doesnt matter, I think those contests are unfair because there's no way due to privacy settings that a page can tell who has shared the image or page. When I ask people to share my page it shows me SOME of who dies, then also says a large number can't be seen because of privacy settings. I think that's why they don't allow them, because it's unfair. But I think people get around it but not making it solely about sharing the page. they say "like,comment, and share!"
