"Indulge your child's whims"

My mom saw something about Stephen king and his mom said something like "indulge your child's whims" and apparently she took it to heart because when I mentioned the potential future possible possibility maybe of making a full silicone tail, she said that I can do it if I want to! Of course I am legally an adult (19 going on 20) and I have a part time job (while also attending university) I would have to pay for everything myself. I don't really have a problem with this. (Shoutout to pearlie mae, too because she got me inspired again) But basically, even though I'm all adultish, I still live with my parents and they pay for my car and stuff. I kinda can't do anything they're not ok with. And now... Mom is ok with me spending several hundred bucks on making a silicone mermaid tail for no reason other than I really flippin want to? ? ?????? I'm so happily confused! :D but yeah. I wanted to share my excitement. I might not end up doing it and even if I do, I might not do it for a while, but I'm still all excited! Also I think that indulging your kids creativity and stuff is a fantastic bit of advice. <3

I agree with the statement, and I wish my mom would be able to agree as well, but oh well...I'm beyond 18, so she'll have to understand^^

Well my mom didn't really like the ideas at first when I made my fabric tail, but I think now that she sees how excited it makes me she has changed her mind.
EDIT: I forgot to say my point because I'm exhausted, but like parents want their kids to be happy usually and I'm sure she will learn to be supportive or at least polite about it ya know? (Ok bed time wow)
