Hi everyone,

I'm trying to check the status of my SASSA SRD grant application, but I keep getting confused by the different websites and steps. Can someone please explain the correct way to do a SASSA status check online?

I want to make sure I'm using the right site and entering the correct information. Also, how often should I check, and what do the different status messages mean (like "pending" or "approved")?

Any advice or tips from those who've done it successfully would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

To check your SRD grant status, visit the official website and use the “Check Status” option by entering your ID number and the cellphone number you used to apply. If your status says “pending,” it means your application is still being processed. “Approved” means your application was successful, and you should see a payment date. If it says “declined,” it wasn’t approved, but you should also see a reason and have the option to appeal. In the middle of the process, the SASSA (https://sassastatusportal.co.za/) system might update or request more info. It's best to check your status once a week for updates.
