So, I have mentioned on a few other threads that I work at a non-profit environmental education facility called Marine Discovery Center. We had a festival this past Saturday called Lagoonacy. One of the big features this year was going to be me swimming around in a pool (yay!) but then at our very last planning meeting my coworkers came up with a great way to actually get me in the pool - a mermaid rescue!
So here is the 5 minute video my hubby took of the rescue and then me swimming around for a bit:

(I couldn't get the video linky thing to work to put the video actually on here, but the link should work...the video is set to be viewed by the public)
The main guy speaking in the marine mammal stranding shirt - he's my boss! The other people in team tshirts and the guy on the megaphone are my coworkers, then we had our volunteers and even a board member, and then of course you have the US Coast Guard LOL!
Besides the fact that it was hilarious and fun, I also wanted to post it to show what an awesome place I work at. I feel so bad when I see people post that their jobs or families don't understand or appreciate their mermaiding or when people lose jobs or relationships over it. I am really lucky that I have a huge support system for mermaiding and that my coworkers love it!!! I know not everyone has that luxury, but I certainly wish everyone here did :)
