Tips on painting directly on Finis Wave monofin

Has anyone tried painting directly onto their plastic monofin with success? I decided I don't want to cover my monofin with fabric but just modify the color. Are there any paints that will adhere to monofin plastic and stay properly, and if so do you guys have any tips or tricks?

I would try some dyes maybe. I know for a fact that most things won't stick to that kind of plastic.

Enamel or spray paint? Or maybe something oily, like an oil paint?
