So I broke my foot today.

Broke it in 2 places.

I was just walking across a sidewalk at a high school I was going to substitute teach at today. Didnt even get to work the job. THey had to call a sub for the sub. Spent 5hrs at ER. Have a temp cast at the moment.

Have no idea what the cost is total right now but I have no insurance and filed for excemption on the obama care due to economic hardship.

So this mermaid is land bound for a while. :(

This is going to sound horrible, but I'd like to mention there are many mers on here who have chronic illnesses, high health care costs and all the financial problems that come with it, but don't come to the forums soliciting for money.
I'm saying this only because just a few weeks ago, you asked for funds because you were fired and couldn't pay your rent or some such.

Imo, money isn't something that should be asked of the community, also I doubt many of us are rolling in it.

I wish you a good speedy recovery though, bone fractures suck big time.

I agree with Catluna. I've seen you ask the community for money a lot and it is probably the wrong place to ask cuz we are all poor too lol. I've gone without food many times. Gotten rid of cable and internet etc. I think if this happens so much you gotta look at any minor life style changes you can make that might prevent it next time. I feel for you I do. Sean was laid off last fall. I am bringing in our only income and it isn't much. My meds are 250$ a month. I have been sicker since November than I ever had in my life. I used all our savings for ncmerfest thinking wed be reimbursed but we weren't and it has been rough. But we keep on trucking.

Yes and I understand.

I know Ive asked for help alot latly.. Im just in a bad spot in life and this doenst help.
I cant drive because my car is manual transmission. I have no other way to get around. I have to walk at work to do my job which I dont knwo how Im going to do this....and Im scared of this surgery which I have no way to pay for. I know that you guys cant donate. Im only sking for you to share it around..

I realize this is a long shot but I dont know what else to do. Ive been crying every time i think about what is to come.
I barely scrape by as it is. I can cut out anymore in my life. Ive cut back so much I never go out we eat on a $100 a month budget for 2 and I make just enough for bills and barely have anything left for gas to get to work and school. My medical costs are as high but I still struggle just to get the money.

I sold most everything i can think of that has value.

Probabaly going to have to sell my tail but that one is a last ditch effort.. becasue Ill never be able to afford a tail again.

Im sorry if it seems like I only ever ask for money. But you guys are the only family I really have.

Ill take down the link.
I guess Ill be going on a hiatus.... indefinetly...

I had gotten into an accident last year, 6 hour ER without insurance came up to around 5k.

I didn't pay a dime of it cause I qualified for financial assistance.

Check with the hospital you went to at the financial office. Ask if they have financial aid/assistance. And see if you qualify.
Also if you do, with the required documents, it's nice to add in an honest letter of your current situation. From my experience, they do read it and take it in account. I don't have 2 required pieces of document as the year before, I didn't file my taxes (nothing to file, I had gotten out of the army then and was living off of unemployment), I explained why in a detailed letter and my situation and they approved it a year later. You just have to call in monthly, check up at certain places, and keep them updated until your paperwork goes through.

I hope this helps, a lot of hospitals around my area have hidden financial aid services. I hope your does too <3

< got fired for getting into a relationship recently lol. (Minimum wage since after the military)

I have money saved up for my finfolk tail and enough to keep me a float for a few months.

Always make sure you save for the future!!

You might qualify for Medicaid under the ACA; you should talk with the hospital and call your local Medicaid office. For instance, my parents (in a similar situation) now qualify for Medicaid, which I'm pretty sure covers emergency medicine, broken bones, etc. Also call your congressperson, senator, or local representative; sometimes they're able to help, or point you towards resources you can use.

Just keep swimmin' kiddo! We're all sending you healing thoughts :)
