Just another new addition

Good Evening everyone, I'm happy to have stumbled across this little forum site while perusing youtube videos. Like many of you my interest in mermaids was sparked in childhood and was something that I never "grew out of." Its just something that I've always dreamed of (literally! hahah)

A few years ago I moved away from home to attend school. This also meant that I left behind all of my family and friends, as well as my costumes and conventions. I had to put basically all of my hobbies, interests.... everything on hold which was incredibly depressing. I'm leaving this year (finally!) and will be going back home to southern Cali where I'll have the perfect opportunity to jump back into the things I had to temporarily abandon.

I'm lucky enough to be friends with a couple of people that pursued degrees in costume making so I'm going to either bribe, barter, etc my way into them making me a tail. I'm hoping to have a fabric one of some kind made before the end of the year.

I look foreward to talking with you all, and thank you for the advice that I've already had a chance to browse through

I'll probably be back in mid to late june. Always try to come home before the 4th of July because I cook up a storm for our get together in the backyard heh I dont really have a facebook but I'll try to keep up with posts on the forumsite because I see that meet ups and get togethers are sometimes posted through here. I see that youre from San Diego, me too!

I used to live in Santee, but ended up having to move a couple years ago. I'm actually down in Pacific Beach now right by the bay area, near seaworld. I'd definitely be interested, sounds like a lot of fun ^^! When I get back I plan on purchasing a monofin from someplace or ordering one online and taking it down to the plunge to fool around

Oh fun! My sister lives almost right across the street from the plunge, only reason I don't go is it's a bit farther, but if I had another person there it'd be more worth it to try out that pool. It's so huge and looks like tons of fun! Santee YMCA is $5, The Plunge is $7 for day passes, not too bad for either. I just googled the plunge and it looks like the pool is closed for repairs for a couple of months, but hopefully when you get here it'll be opened up again!
