I'm posting this for a friend who I've known over the internet for years. She's doing everything she can to get funds (multiple jobs, selling off things, ect) to help her family's current situation. Her husband's daughter (daughter from her husband's ex) was taken by the ex and she fled to another state, where the daughter was taken from her mother because the mother is very unstable and had her in horrid living conditions. It was so bad that the daughter was grossly underweight and malnourished when the state intervened, thank god they did. However they re-homed the daughter, and it's been an insane battle with the state just for the father to try and get his daughter back. All because he's the father, not the mother.
