Been tossing the idea around to make my own custom monofin. I know you need to use the material Lexan for the monofin itself (I hope that the correct product) but when it comes to the foot pockets themselves. Where can I find them and whats the going rate $$ wise? ALSO what the BEST way to secure the footpockets to the Lexan itself with out breaking or having problems. Questions questions.... to many questions.

I've heard zoomers and polyzap

You could buy a set of old swim fins an use stainless nuts an bolts to hold it on to the lexan

Poly zap is much easier than nuts and bolts. It basically welds the rubber and and lexan together. Depending on the size, my Lexan was about $32 and my finis zoomers were about $25 just to give you an idea

I'm using this method, too, seeing as how it's worked for so many people. I just need to gather all the supplies, and I'll be good to go.

You don't need to use a set of fins to build one. You can build footpockets from 1/8" gasket rubber and bolt them down.

Personally, I like my zoomers because I can use the polyzap and not have to worry about bolts
