So this happened- http://www.buzzfeed.com/alyssajayne/how-not-to-use-social-media-101-pgg2

I know a lot of you may not disagree, but to me this is in bad taste. They pretty much showed that they don't actually care about their customers, just the "majority" who will turn a blind eye to BM's own community rules and still buy their clothing. I've also heard a lot of reports of BM using artwork (to print and sell on clothing) without the artist's permission. I know a lot of people like their mermaid scale leggings, but maybe read up and re evaluate before purchasing..

Wow. What a mess :\ I've thought of buying from BM a few times but never have, now I'm sort of glad of that.
They've posted an official apology now: https://www.facebook.com/blackmilkclothing/posts/797141630304921
Such a pity how a social media team can let stuff snowball until they dig a giant hole for an entire company.

If you want an alternative brand, check out livingdead.com.au. They've got similar stuff at cheaper prices (and a "mermaids" tab!).

I posted this on my FB too. Some friends left some comments (respectful ones) on Black Milk's FB, after reading the offical apology, and their comments were deleted and they were banned.. so not sure the lesson for the social media team was really learned..

Cool site! They've got great stuff, and I love their scale pattern clothes.

B.T.W. Does this remind anyone of the fiasco Lululemon Athletica created when their boss said "fat women" (whatever that means?) shouldn't be wearing Lululemon?

B.T.W. Does this remind anyone of the fiasco Lululemon Athletica created when their boss said "fat women" (whatever that means?) shouldn't be wearing Lululemon? Lululemon has a whole other issues than just that. I won't buy from them strictly because all of their clothes are made in extreme sweatshop conditions, and the owner said that it doesn't matter how little they pay the workers, or if they use child labor, at least they are contributing to an under privileged areas economy. Abercrombie and Fitch also said similar stuff.

bleh i hate this whole situation that they dug for themselves since I've been an avid follower for 3 years :( (i've ordered 19 pieces over that time period its hella expensive but i think its better to buy BM then to buy clothes made via slave labour) and I'm in 4 of their community groups which are always fun to be apart of (except in this situation every 2nd post was about this since its a big issue) I'm not sure what's happening with Alicia now, or the rest of the social media team I'm sure there will be training involved at the least,in the community groups is that cam (we call him captain cam hes like the bridge between the communities and the company and makes alot of special pieces/events happen) issued a massive apology about 4 hours ago on the public page (and earlier on the other community groups)
i like the latest apology since he addresses both the meme and how they handled the complaints, (we have commandments on how treat each other with respect and they totally broke that)
I'm not sure how i feel buying more pieces, i was especially excited to buy from the latest witch please collection next week and the new mermaid leggins and disney collection later on and more warm leggings since that stuff is actually having your body wrapped in pure bliss!
the situation makes me sad and is making everyone sad at least they've learnt a massive lesson from this and so have alot of other companies in handling clothing's social media page

Would you say that you guys actually learned anything over the last few days, or will you be sticking your feet in your mouth again in the near future?Like (https://www.facebook.com/blackmilkclothing?ref=ts&fref=ts#) · · 11 minutes ago (https://www.facebook.com/blackmilkclothing/posts/797243223628095)

Black Milk Clothing (https://www.facebook.com/blackmilkclothing?ref=stream) We'll try not to stick our feet in our mouths, we're just not that flexible. But seriously yes we have got a number of learnings from this which we'll be discussing when we're back in the office in six hours

Alicia

just saw this as well!
