hello I'm new to the mernetwork I cant believe I did not know this existed I have been living my mermaid life alllll alone. I don't have many friends on here because I'm new so I am hoping to met some of you !?

I do have a question for anyone that can answer. if I join a pod is there a way I can talk to the people near me or how does that work

Well if you mean talking via internet, there's tons of way to do that without a pod! If you click on 'Forum' at the top of the site, you should see a little chat box that you can quickly talk to people with. There's also private messaging and then there are simply threads everywhere that you can post and talk to people on. On all the pod-specific threads, you can talk to people about things going on in your area or plan meetups as well. But, if you mean joining a pod to meet up and talk to people in real life with, that's a different story.

But from what I see, you've already joined the pod of the Great Lakes :)

Scroll to the top, look at the tabs, there's one called Member Map. Click that, then scroll/zoom in to get to your area, just doing a quick search there's a few in your state, you can add yourself to the map and private message anyone near you! Worst case, they'll think you're nuts and won't respond. I met 2 people near me this way! Worked out wonderfully!

Also, if you can find a Facebook page that your pod might have, join! That's where most of our info for events happens to be! Welcome and have fun learning lots of new things! There's TONS of info here!
