Fl merfest anyone?

Hi guys! I just wanted to see who's going to the florida merfest? I'm not sure if I'm going to this one but I will be attending nc merfest! Let me know if you're going to either!

No from what I heard there is a fl merfest in I think Tampa, I read about it on one of the other posts

MerEmma I just looked it up and couldn't find it either, strange, maybe they decided not to do it! Oh well I still get to go to nc merfest, which is what I'm REALLY excited about! :)

I know I am going to the one in NC when it is time. But as for the one in Florida I have not heard anything about it.

I know they're still having it, it's being run by Mermaid Atlantis. However she just had a very serious health scare (almost died while in another country, still recovering), which may be why things haven't been udpated. I'll see what I can find but I did talk with her a lot, and she kicks mermaid butt. She did a lot of the stuff for NCMerfest, and I'm sure she'll do a great job with this. It's not being run by the various groups who did it before.

Hi folks I just confirmed it is cancelled. All though Stephanie Simms is apparently throwing a party in Florida around the same time. I think without the guidance of certain people it just couldn't come together which is too bad, but Stephanie's company (who put on previous mercons/merpalooza etc) doesn't have the best track record in our community (you can see previous threads, and in the drama thread too) so I can't say I am surprised.

So save your money for NCMerfest instead? lol

Honestly me might be able to talk to the event organizers of the event and see about adding a mermaid swim jam to an event customers can enjoy. It may give us free admission and help them make more money.

Gasparilla are not very nice. I also belong to a pirate krewe and they keep denying us to be in the parade every year. We did the Knight parade tho and had a blast. New to the pod btw. I'm Angelfish located in the Tampa Bay area on the coast. *bows politely*. Would love to talk to other mermaids in or out of my area.
