Opening an esty shop?

So as some of you may know, I want to start a fabric mermaid tail business and am doing some research of how to start. I know some of you have esty shops and such, could I sell tails through esty?

Ive seen people sell tails through etsy.

There are a few tails through esty plus tons of other stuff. But with some stuff I have seen some people want crazy money an the prices are just plain nuts, but that maybe just me.

Also, as a platform Etsy looks pretty nice, but they do take a small cut for listing and then for selling an item. And there are a lot of sellers on Etsy. A lot. Sellers who make money are very proactive about their sales. But it can be a fun opportunity, and if you want, you can use it as a starting place to get selling!
