Hot glue or what?

Hey, there! I'm new to the mermaid world and I wanted to make a mermaid top! What sort of materials work on an artsy (most likely intricate) top that would stay together for swimming? Hot glue? Crazy glue?

Also, any tips and tricks I should know? Or materials that are your favorites?

Theres this special glue called e6000 and it works best for mermaid gluing needs :) hod glue is a no-go.
